curious and open minded I am a conscious human being seeking to find some like minded friends who are as frustrated as I am with the declining quality of all life on earth. How's that for a dramatic opener? But seriously, I believe that issues ranging from social justice to the environment to animal rights are all completely interconnected. I am ready to find some outlet for my frustration through activism, but get overwhelmed trying to make decisions about what organization to join or how I can best serve the causes I most care about, since there is only one me and about a thousand issues worth dedicating energy to. I figured that this would be a good place to at least converse about these things and possibly meet some people who are themselves involved and passionate. And who knows? Maybe some of you share my passion for music, film, art and literature as well.

Aside from that, I'm your typical spiritual but not religious type. I eat meat, but try to do so consciously. I feel sad when I don't honor my connection to nature by being in it--when I am disconnected from it for too long, it seriously depresses me. I love to hike, especially when not that many other people are on the trails. I meditate, go to the gym, try to do things that make me feel good. Despite all of this, I do find myself fighting cynicism much of the time.

Regardless of the somewhat serious tone of this blurb thus far, I am actually a funny person with a broad sense of humor. I'm single and would love to find a companion, but I'm also here for friends. Most of the best romantic relationships I've had have started that way. I'm pretty hetero, but I put looking for men and women because my reasons for being on this site extend beyond simply dating.
