"If you're not angry, you're not paying attention" Lead singer of Rise Against said that, and I believe it.
Anger, when not malicious or for the sake of anger - when it is rooted in a sense of "right" and a drive for change, drives people forward.
People who are sick of the status quo push against it and shift it - we need these people; those who think and question and say, "that's not right", and then go off to try to change it.
We do that, us activists with "nothing better to do with your time" and "complaining" stand out beside other people - we get angry and we say NO, we won't; and in doing so we change something.
Activism is what drives our society forward, and that is why it is important - it stresses human and nonhuman rights and compassion and understanding of others and it teaches us to respect and love one another.
