Like you, I too came to this site looking for a lover, a mate, and a comrade. I'm a hard worker in the good fight, and I'm easy going and a straight-shooter. I can be deeply moved by a riff of jazz, a mountain view on a clear day, and intellectually rigorous conversation. I'm psyched on the FMLN victory in El Salvador, the New York Giants, Wilco, Silvio Rodriguez, Cannonball Adderly, Salman Rushie, Nadine Gordimer, Mike Davis, and various strands of third world Marxism. I love cooking, cycling, crazy Werner Herzog flicks, Pt Reyes National Seashore, my nieces and nephews in Jersey and Oakland, and the poetry of contradictions in political struggle. I'm new to LA--a year so far--and I love how I spend most of my hours (as a civil rights and environmental justice organizer) but beyond that I'm decidedly ambivalent about this town. Where'm I from? You can take the boy outta Jersey, but you can't take Jersey outta the boy. But if you put the boy in Cali long enough, he probably won't ever go back to Jersey except to visit the fam. Sorry mom!
